News for 7 November 2011
We currently have vacancies for two Foundation Governors.
Foundation Governors are appointed by the Diocesan Board of Education, but it is usual practice for candidates to be nominated by the parish churches of St Margaret’s and St Wulfran’s. Applications from individuals with experience in analytical thinking and understanding data would be particularly welcome, however, that isn’t compulsory.
What is essential, is to have an interest in education, be able to ask carefully considered questions and be willing to commit to attending governance meetings. We typically meet as a Full Board 5 times per year, usually from 1630-1830 on Monday evenings. Governors are also encouraged join one or more sub-committees, that meet between 3 and 6 times per year. These meetings may take place during the school day.
Both the Local Authority and the Diocese offer a range of high-quality training to support Governors in their induction and beyond.
Further information on the role of a Foundation Governor is available in the Governor section of the school website. The application form for Foundation Governors is available on the Diocesan website – Foundation Governor Nomination Form. Paper copies of these documents are also available in both churches.

Living Faith Course
The Diocese of Chichester Diocese is running a course for lay people who are active in church life and who want to grow in discipleship. The course is designed to help people find and grow
in the ministry to which God is calling them which may be Reader ministry, Authorised Lay Ministry, or using other gifts as a volunteer in church. It is an exploratory course, so you’re not committing to anything! Information is available online by searching ‘Chichester Living Faith’. Highly recommended, especially as the church of the future will rely less on ordained ministry (i.e. the clergy) and more on lay minsters.
Quiz Night
The recent quiz night raised a very splendid £1010 for church funds. Congratulations and thank you to Elaine and Philip Eardley and all who helped make the evening such a success.

The group meets on Wednesdays at 1900 in church. New members always welcome. We knit and we natter. Just come along! Sue Leaney – 07803 179 617
