Coronation Lunch – Sunday 7th May
You are invited to bring food for a ‘Bring & Share’ lunch in church
to celebrate the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Coffee as usual after the Parish Eucharist and then time to eat together, chat and enjoy each other’s company.

Celebrating Volunteers
The theme of the Coronation is ‘volunteering’. Rottingdean Parish Council is hosting a celebratory event on Monday 8th May between 1400-1700 in Kipling Gardens. Anyone who gives their time as a volunteer in the village (including the church) is welcome.

Deans Alpha Course
St Margaret’s, St Nicholas’, Holy Cross and St Wulfran’s are running an Alpha Course for the Deans, starting on Wednesday 17th May 1830 – 2000 for 5 weeks at Holy Cross, Woodingdean. FREE! Everyone welcome to learn about or explore Christianity. Helpers are needed to welcome people, make tea/coffee/food, offer prayer.

A note from the PCC Treasurer
Our Treasurer, William Woodhouse, is currently undergoing an exercise to ensure that we have the most up to date records in place for Gift Aid. If you have not completed a new Gift Aid form in 2023 and if you are eligible for Gift Aid is suitable for you (i.e. you are a UK taxpayer), then please could you complete a new form? There are copies at the back of the church. If you are unsure if you have signed a form in the past, then please complete another one.

If Gift Aid is no longer applicable to you, please also let William know so that we can amend our records to ensure that we don’t claim Gift Aid if we are no longer entitled to do so.

Gift Aid is surprisingly easy to use. It is a grant back from the Government which adds 25% to the value of your donation: £10 becomes £12.50. Gift Aid can apply to donations of any amount, large or small, by cash, cheque, postal order, direct debit, standing order, debit or credit card.

If you are a UK taxpayer, all you have to do is give the Church a Gift Aid declaration form. What’s more, one single Gift Aid declaration can apply to all past donations you have made over the past 4 years and to all future donations you make.

Please notify St Margaret’s, Rottingdean if you want to cancel your Gift Aid declaration, change your name or home address or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.

If you haven’t already done so, please consider moving your regular giving to the Parish Giving Scheme – a monthly direct debit. Gift Aid is claimed automatically and it saves us a lot of admin work. Gift forms are available at the back of church. Thank you!

Knit & Natter
The group meets on Wednesdays at 1900 in church. New members always welcome. Some of us knit, and we all natter. Just come along!

Bible Study
The group meets in church on Tuesday mornings at 1000 for an hour or so of discussion, reflection and fellowship, currently working through the book Revelation. Do feel free to dip in and out – you don’t have to commit to attending every week.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM)
Our 2023 APCM will be held after the Parish Eucharist on Sunday 21st May. The equivalent of an AGM, it’s an opportunity to elect Churchwardens and PCC members, reflect on the life of the parish in the past year, to review our finances and for members of the congregation to ask questions. The Electoral Roll has been updated and is available to view on the noticeboard in the porch: only names are listed, as required, not addresses etc.
