Church Flowers 2024 – Easter
As the Church Development Project starts after Easter, this year’s Easter flowers will be different. There will be one main display, and flowers in another form, as they will not be able to remain in church after the Easter service, due to the church being cleared for works.

At our workshop on Saturday 30th March (Holy Saturday) 1015-1200, we will prepare the flowers for Easter. If you would like to bring some foliage along with your scissors to the workshop, please do.

Please email Duncan with your name if you are attending and any queries, email:

If you would like to sponsor the Easter flowers, please enclose your donation in an envelope marked ‘for the Easter flowers’ and hand in at the church office or to the Churchwardens before Sunday 24 March 2024. Thank you for your continued support. Duncan

Kneelers and pews
A big thank you to everyone who took kneelers and contributed to church funds. They are now all gone. Most of them have remained in the village and were taken by residents who had a connection to them. Some have gone to another church. None were thrown away.

We are now preparing to move out of the church in readiness for the reordering of the nave which starts just after Easter, and this means the pews are to be sold to make way for our new chairs. The pews on the north side are free standing and would look lovely in a kitchen or in a garden. If you are interested in having one, please speak to either Heather or me. The price is £100 per pew. Four have ‘sold’ signs already, so don’t delay if you want one! Dawn

Music @ St Margaret’s
Saturday 16th March at 1300: Resonance conducted by Greg Moore. A concert of music and readings for Lent and Easter by Tallis, Purcell, Farrant, Rheinberger, Palestrina and others. £5 on the door.

Sunday 24th March at 1700: Ovingdean Choral Society conducted by James Geer. A programme of music by Elgar, including a new setting of his well-known work ‘Sea Pictures’ arranged in four parts. £12 on the door.

On a very few dates, the service will need to be at 1700 because of prior hall bookings. Bible Study on Tuesdays and a service of reflection on Thursdays will be held at the Plough Inn.
