Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 31 October 2020 and presuming that Parliament votes in favour of a further National Lockdown, the Government website states that all public worship will once again be suspended from Thursday 5 November. There will be no celebration of the Eucharist this coming Thursday, next Sunday or until the Lockdown is lifted, hopefully at the beginning of December. The difference this time is that churches may remain open for private prayer, so we will maintain the pattern of opening from Monday to Saturday between 2 and 3 p.m. Thank you to our volunteer stewards whose time and commitment allows us to do that.
I am praying for the parish and village each day at 0900 and 1700 - please join with me spiritually if you are at home or at work as a way of uniting in prayer. The Angelus is being rung at noon each day to remind us of the closeness of God in Christ.
We pray for those who have contracted the virus, those treating them, those researching a vaccine, the families of those who have died, and for the repose of the souls of the virus’ victims.
May God bless us all. Fr Anthony follow this link 'Support in our community'
