2. Christmas Tree Festival 2017 Guidelines

All exhibitors are encouraged to make their individual trees a real ‘entertainment’ for the visitors to the festival.

Your tree will need a title, to be reflected in the decorations.

Your Christmas Tree may be:

  • Traditional
  • Modern
  • Plain
  • Elaborate
  • A colour scheme
  • Be themed
  • Tell a story
  • Depict your organisation or group
  • Or just be different

Its up to you!

Each exhibitor will need to provide their own tree, either real or artificial, together with a suitable stand.  If real you will need to ensure that it will last the weekend, and provide any care for it e.g. watering. We can turn lights on and off as long as you show us where they are.

Setting up times are on Wednesday 29 (between 11am and 6pm) and Thursday 30 November (between 11am and 8pm) - please state your preferred time on the booking form, and this will be confirmed by the organisers.

All trees must be removed from St Margaret’s Church either at the end of the Festival on Sunday 3 December between 4pm to 4.45pm or between 10am and 1pm on Monday 4 December, again please confirm on booking form.

Tree lights are welcome, preferably battery LED operated. There are a very limited number of electric power sockets in the church, to where the displays will be held. No musical lights as there will be some live and background music in the Church. The use of candles will not be allowed.

All exhibitors must respect other Church users when setting up and dismantling their trees. The organisers reserve the right to remove any item they consider unsafe or inappropriate.

  • tell your friends, families and neighbours
  • get them to come along
  • enjoy the Festival and have fun
  • make the fourth St. Margaret’s Church, Rottingdean Christmas Tree Festival a massive success.
